HDTV: A High-Tech Video Technology for You

By John Terry Santiago

If you have a pair of great eyes and a good sense to judge the quality of a video, then you will agree that nothing but HDTV can only give the best performance of video display. This technology is not meant for the movies. It is now has been applied in many television broadcast and industries. There is certain scale for the signal that can be caught by the HDTV device inside the television, and then it produces an unbelievable graphic of TV picture. As I am, you will be shocked when you first time see the quality that the technology is given.

HDTV has a bigger pixel rate than the standard video. The comparison is really great; the HD can outnumbered the standard video format for more than 5 times bigger pixel and resolution. The resolution and pixel rate is the most important thing on every video. When we know that one video has a bigger resolution, the details are really great. Maybe you can look at the flowers captured on the HD video format clearer than the flower captured by the standard format. The video standard is going to become a history soon enough.

You can see clearly the differences between the two of them by simple comparing the quality of picture that is given by those each technology. The difference will be so visible. The quality of the picture given by HDTV will be clearer, sharp, but smooth. This different with the older technology that will give sharp picture but it can hurt your eyes.

HDTV needs a bigger resource than the last TV you own. It's because that HDTV shows a lot details, so the data stored on the disc or in the hard disk you own must be bigger too. When you know that the size of a normal DVD is only 4GB, the size of a Bluray disc for storing HD movies are 12 times bigger. Yes, the size of it is 60GB. Imagine the advance age of technology in just a single disc. Imagine how many pictures you can carry when you used the Bluray disc. That's the high definition format is talking about.

As mentioned above, HDTV can result a very detail and smooth picture. This is because this technology has very high resolution. The resolution is more than two million pixels per frame. It is about five times than the older similar technology of standard SD that only has four to five hundred thousand pixels per frame. This jump is a very great achievement of video technology that human being ever invented. Nowadays, many televisions or film industries use HDTV as their main video system. This technology can empower the graphic of the video so that the picture will be much clearer and sharp, and once again, smooth. This technology also can be compressed into a video file. You can save any video files on your hard drive using this format, and it can give you perfect video display. People who love watching movie will tend to choose this format rather than the other video format. HDTV now becomes more favorable as a movie file rather than any other format.
