Low Cost Alternate choices to Wireless Cable TV

By Aaron Heller

It has become an expensive option to have wireless cable TV access within the home and many people are giving it up thanks to the high cost. There are options that a person can select that are now available that vary in price between free and a minute monthly cost.

Hulu

If you miss TV shows that you routinely catch on wireless cable TV, you may get them on Hulu just about a day after they air. There are channels like Fox that have an eight day holdback period prior to when they are available on Hulu. The Hulu service is free excepting some tiny adverts that last under a minute. This is a much better option than the advertisements that barrage regular cable TV. Hulu has a once per month premium plan called Hulu Plus that offers complete access to each TV show season. This also gives folks access to the shows that are not supposed to air for another 8 days. The shows are right away added a day after the first air date. The Hulu services include not only television shows but popular flicks, too. It is simple to use the service from your computer, cell phone, iPod or other supported mobile Web gizmo. This is one of the affordable and easy alternatives to cable.

Amazon

Many individuals can't make a case for the cost of cable or wireless TV because not every channel that's paid for is constantly studied. Households everywhere are either cutting the monthly costs of TV or hunting for affordable options to enjoy entertainment. Hulu has great offerings and reasonable prices, although not every network is available for viewing. As an illustrative example of programs, there's no available content from MTV or other premium channels commonly found with cable.

One of the best alternatives to cable television is with Amazon Prime. The members of this service spend about $79 a year and are able to watch unlimited programming from the huge offerings available on the site. There aren't any additional fees to use the television shows or films. This service didn't start out as a television alternative. It started as an offering of discounted shipping and promotional discounts for Amazon members. The TV offerings are among the many inclusions of the shows that are offered to Amazon Prime members for a very affordable yearly fee.

You can watch the shows provided by Amazon if you're not a Prime member, there is, however, a cost involved. If you only watch 1 or 2 shows, it can still be a cheaper option compared to the wireless cable TV costs. The cost is about $3 per episode or a complete season can be bought. Each show can be streamed right away.

Hulu restricts your viewing to a few episodes and you have to pay additional to access the other shows. If you figure out the costs, Amazon Prime is one of the cheapest alternatives to cable that you can find to still watch your favourite shows without paying high wire bills.
