How to Adjust Your HDTV Aerial

By Daniel I. Desoto

You can get the best reception from your TV by modifying your HDTV aerial. Know how to acquire the perfect HDTV signal by scanning this short article.

Determine position of TV station aerial. The first thing that you have to do is to give the regional television station a telephone call. Then, ask them regarding the area of their broadcast antennas.

You now need to change or adjust the present position of your external aerial. If your aerial is connected to your roof, take out the U-bolts which keep the antenna attached to the mast. Then, point your aerial in the direction of the site of the TV station's broadcast aerial. Have somebody keep track of your TV inside your home while you make small changes to your external antenna. Refrain from shouting to one another, but utilize a telephone to communicate, instead. Ask your assistant to rescan for TV channels each time you reposition the aerial outside. And lastly, when you have obtained the channels you needed to have, tighten back the mounting bolts to secure the antenna in that spot.

Make modifications to the interior antennas. You may now begin working on readjusting your indoor antennas until you obtain the right television reception. Initially you must make sure to raise the antennas as high up to the ceiling as possible. You can then slowly modify the directions of the aerial ears until you are happy with the reception from your TV. It is necessary that while you create any adjustments, you also continue to monitor your TV set to help you quickly find out the exact change which supplied the perfect television reception.

Take the antenna near the window. If pulling and repositioning the antenna ears didn't work, you may try bringing your television set and antennas near the window. Sometimes this will work as signals are best where there are no physical interferences. Whenever modifying the position of the antennas, ensure that its wires aren't kinked.

You may also try to look for the perfect reception from within the room by moving the aerial across the room. Do this while carefully checking the reception of channels from the television. As soon as you've identified which certain spot in the room offers the perfect reception, move your TV set to that location.

The top floor at home provides the perfect reception for indoor television antennas. Thus, consider transferring your TV set to an elevated floor if it is not acquiring the reception you want from its present floor area.
